Sex, Relationship & Intimacy Therapist Intern (He/Him)

I am an emotionally focused, growth-oriented therapist committed to creating a warm, safe space where you can experience radical acceptance, especially around sex, sexuality, relationships, and love. I hold a BA from Dartmouth College, an MDiv from Yale University, and I’m currently pursuing an MA at Antioch University. As a therapist intern, I offer sliding-scale sessions to those who are in need of financial support. My approach is flexible and personalized, drawing from narrative, family systems, EFT, Gottman, and solution-focused therapies. With many years of experience, I particularly enjoy helping individuals and couples work through religious baggage around sex and am affirming of queer, nonmonogamous, and kink identities.

What You Can Expect

You deserve to feel seen, understood, and accepted, yet it’s normal to fear the vulnerability that comes with truly being seen. In a world filled with sexually repressive messages, narrow relationship expectations, and unrealistic ideals, it’s no wonder these feelings arise. Sexual and relational desires are important, and in our work together, you’ll find a safe, structured environment to explore them openly and make real progress.

It would be my joy to help you accept, integrate, and embrace your erotic and romantic self, whatever that may look like. With years of experience supporting diverse individuals and couples, I especially enjoy working with those who are carrying religious or cultural baggage around sex. Whether you’re navigating queer identities, nonmonogamous relationships, or kink, I am here to affirm and support you.

My Story

I grew up swimming in the warm waters of the Gulf of Mexico, where I learned to embrace a slower pace of life. Later, I moved to New Hampshire to explore some of life’s biggest questions, studying philosophy, religion, and physics at Dartmouth College. After graduating, I backpacked around the world before returning home to become a community organizer. Seeking to deepen my understanding of social change, I attended graduate school at Yale, focusing on the intersection of spirituality, organizational design, and movement history. Drawn by Seattle’s progressive reputation, vibrant arts scene, and natural beauty, I moved here, and for the past 15 years, I’ve built a strong community of chosen and biological family, including two wonderful daughters. I also co-founded two organizations: a social justice incubator and an anti-racist, non-dogmatic spiritual community. My deep experience with religion and spirituality allows me to support those struggling with religious baggage and existential crises related to meaning, purpose, change, shame, and grief. My work in community development has equipped me to help people facing loneliness and alienation, whether in the larger world or within committed partnerships.

Interests

I love dancing, weird art, singing, fantasy literature, stand-up comedy, and music (I believe Prince has great therapeutic value). I also enjoy road trips, writing poetry, practicing contemplation and Zen meditation, and exploring philosophy.
